DM Division, MHA, Government of India (GoI) has played a significant role in global initiatives on disaster management by taking a lead in strengthening international cooperation and collaboration. It has signed several MoUs with countries such as Russia, Germany and Indonesia amongst others, to deepen and develop cooperation for disaster management, capacity building and knowledge sharing. Apart from that GoI is a signatory of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) 2005-2015 and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) 2015-2030, further strengthening its commitment to disaster management. In November 2016, the GoI organized the first Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) to provide a unique platform for Asian countries to shape the implementation and monitoring process of the Sendai Framework in Asia.
